This thirty-week media arts program is held twice a week, after-school and on Saturdays for middle school students (ages 10 to 14) at the William Reagh Los Angeles Photography Center near MacArthur Park. The workshops cover drawing, painting, animation and media arts, taught by CalArts faculty, alumni and students. The middle school students learn drawing and painting techniques, drawing from the model, how to animate, how to put together an art portfolio and how to create art work on computers. The program culminates in a public exhibition and screening of the art work produced by the students. This program is part of the Sony Pictures Media Arts Program, a partnership between CalArts Community Arts Partnership, the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
