Curator’s Comments:

Lahinch just caught my attention, though I see it was created several years ago.  I enjoy the way in which the rolling waters and rocks meet the shoreline, and visually connect the undulating organic formations. The sea also effortlessly merges into the similarly pale colored sky, softening the muted hues and rocky shapes through atmospheric perspective.   The horizontal elongation of the picture plane further heightens the sense of a great expanse, and broadens our view of the space. It’s a restful but engrossing scene.  I do find it interesting that you only have two other paintings on the site, and they represent a significant departure from the both the subject matter and formal handling of this landscape. While dexterous in your practice, I’d love to see more works akin to Lahinch. It captures a strong sense of place beyond realistic representation.
