Thank you so much, I really appreciate your comment!! "Isla Mujeres" is a 40"x30", "Afternoon Fog" is a 24"x20"

Welcome to the site!  I’m very attracted to the landscapes you’ve posted that appear to have roughly eroded physical surfaces. Isla Mujeres in particular seems to embody natural forces at work in the image, weathering the rocky cliffs that meet the craggy textured sky.  The reserved cool color palette creates a melancholy mood, but the active marks in the sky, water and ground actively engage the viewer.  I also enjoy the separations of these articulated patterns by warm/cool temperature shifts that offer boundaries of demarcation. Afternoon Fog is more nebulous still in its relationships between warm brown earth tones and semi-transparent glazes of violet throughout the piece.  The delicate inclusions of trees and a bridge in the background atmospherically recede as the choppy and crackled corners of the painting move up to the foreground. You didn’t indicate the scale of these works, and so I wonder if the spaces are small and intimate landscapes or if the sweeping textures and fissures are more foreboding.
